What Does a Hypnotist Do?
People often search for a hypnotist because there is something they want to change but have not been able to change simply by deciding to.
It may involve anxiety, stress, confidence, a habit, a fear, smoking, emotional eating, motivation, performance, or another pattern that keeps repeating.
Hypnosis can be used in different ways. In my work, we begin with the particular issue you want to address. The way I guide the session depends on what you are experiencing and what we find as we work.
Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist?
The terms hypnotist and hypnotherapist are sometimes used interchangeably, but they do not necessarily describe the same kind of work.
A hypnotist uses hypnosis. I use the term Clinical Hypnotherapist because hypnosis is part of a broader process of understanding and working with the emotional or behavioral pattern that brought you in.
I have worked full-time as a hypnotherapist since 2007. My sessions are individual rather than scripted, and the way we work depends on the person and the issue.
